OEMS Provides Hazardous Material Services Using Computed Radiography

In the past Orion Enviro Marine Service (OEMS) performed radiographic inspection using conventional X-ray films. Faced with the rising cost of film, the challenges and the cost of chemical disposal, OEMS decided to move to Computed Radiography (CR). After comparing several CR systems, they decided on the HD-CR 35 NDT CR scanner due to its versatility and powerful software.

Dee Piping has been a user of HD-CR 35 NDT Computed Radiography system since 2021 in its Palwal Unit III facility and utilizes it in quality control for weld inspection as well as for confirmation of pipe wall thickness. Both X-ray and isotopes such as Selenium-75 and Iridium-192 sources are used to expose pipes of different thickness.

HD-CR 35 NDT Supports Bringing Astranis Satellites Into Orbit

Astranis uses a combination of the HD-CR-35 NDT computed radiography scanner with high-resolution imaging plates and an X-ray generator to inspect orbital welds made in manifolds. They have three operators who are trained to use the scanner and produce around 30 X-ray images per week.
