What does TreFoc Technology mean and how does it work?

TreFoc Technology is the name for the our new laser focussing technology, uniquely in systems from DÜRR NDT. With TreFoc the laser beam is adjusted perfectly to give optimal image results and the highest signal-to-noise ratio in any application.
Inside the laser tube, an iris diaphragm adjusts the laser beam diameter. Since the perfect laser beam diameter can be selected for each object and image type, optimum results for any particular application can be easily achieved.
Regardless of the application – high-resolution image or low-exposure corrosion measurement – the unique TreFoc Technology give perfect image results with the best SNR every time. The principle of changing the laser beam diameter takes into consideration the maximum resolution of the Imaging Plates available on the market.

So every Imaging Plate type can be read with a laser beam focussed specifically for that plate, thus always achieving the best image with the lowest noise.

Digital radiography has never been more intelligent!

Laser beam 50 µm
50 µm Corrosion measurements, overview radiographs, isotope applications

Laser beam 25 µm
25 µm Weld inspection, metal casting, isotope applications

Laser beam 12.5 µm
12.5 µm Weld inspection, aerospace, composite materials

Standard operation workflow

Exposure
1. Position imaging plate and expose.
New order
2. Select an existing order or create a new one.
Scan mode
3. Select the desired scan mode.
Scanning
4. Feed in the imaging plate – intake then starts automatically.
X-ray parameters
5. Set image name and save. X-ray source parameters can also be recorded.
Examination
6. Examine the image or forward it for examination.

Scan process

After the object type has been selected, the scanner sets all scan parameters perfectly so that an optimal image result can always be expected.

Add information

If required, various predefined fields may be filled with additional informa-tion like kV, mA and exposure time. In order to distinguish different sites or tasks, those may be added also. If no additional information is required, this step may be skipped.

Add information if required

Preview and release

After the scan has taken place, the quality of the image can be checked on the built-in display and released for storing.
