Basic Spatial Resolution (SR_b)

The Basic Spatial Resolution results from measurement of the image un-sharpness with a duplex wire IQI (Image Quality Indicator). The Basic Spatial Resolution indicates the smallest geometric detail resolved in a radiographic image.

A differentiation is made between:

• Basic Spatial Resolution of the detector (SR_b^detector):
  The duplex wire IQI is placed directly on the detector surface.
• Basic Spatial Resolution of the radiographic image (SR_b^image):
  The duplex wire IQI is placed on the test object surface facing the source.
