Digital Detector Array (DDA)

A digital matrix detector, also known as a flat panel detector, is an electronic device for the conversion of ionizing radiation from X-rays or gamma rays into electrical signals by using a matrix of millions of photodiodes. There are direct-conversion detectors (without scintillator) and indirect-conversion detectors (with scintillator).
